Good Morning!

Good morning families. This week we are continuing our writing practice with our Summer Bucket Lists. Please see the link below. This week, you are to complete your bucket! Feel free to choose the topics you most resonate with. :) Also, as your child is writing, you may scribe for your child, have them copy the words from your example or have them use their Invented Spelling (Spelling by sounding out) Dnsr=Dinosaur for example. 3 ideas per bucket size is plenty!

We are meeting today at 1 on Zoom too. :)

I have had a great time looking at the finished animal projects from Joslyn and Tim. Check out some pictures below! Thanks for sending them in!

Don't forget to take a look at the Morning Routine and Online Resources!

WEEK Twelve
Sight Words  No new sight words for this week.

Reading
This month our focus is Living Things and Their Environments, which ties in to the Grade One Science curriculum. Please see right sidebar with reading group names. Your child will know their reading group. You should spend about 20 minutes per day on a lesson, in addition to the 20 minutes per day that your child reads independently.

Writing
We are focusing on filling our Summer Bucket List. Summer Bucket Activity Feel free to pick and choose the titles that resonate with you. Find below the pages that were used in class.

Once finished. They get stapled at the top after being cut out to make a flip book!
*Tip - Use pencil crayon to colour. :)
Math
I have set up a class account for IXL Math. You can use this program at home for additional math practice. Your login information has been emailed to you.

Please remember the most valuable part of your teaching will be the discussion and hands on practice with your child.

JUMP Math
Monday: 200
Tuesday: 201-203
Wednesday: 204-206
Thursday: 207-208
Friday: review, complete unfinished pages, work on the beginning of the book.

Mindfulness
This week we are going to use the Belly Breathing technique to relax our bodies.

Author of the Month
Robert Munsch is our Author of the Month. He is a very famous author! This week we are listening to the story Something Good.

Art Project
To go along with the book of the week, kids are to draw and make their own shopping list of what they would put into their cart! What works great are pictures in the cart with a shopping list below! Have fun with this kids and be sure to add a few healthy options.

Fun Activity

Plan a secret surprise for someone. Maybe (with the help of an adult) bring someone their coffee/tea in the morning, or make toast. Make a small gift or surprise someone by helping with the dishes or even wiping the spots off the wall. You will be surprised at how fun doing something nice for someone else is!

Have a lovely week, everyone!
