Friday May 15th

Hello everyone!

I want to start off by saying that it has been so nice Zooming with people. This week on the one-on-one Zooms, we have read David’s Father. It’s one of my favourite books. :-) If you would like to set up one-on-one Zooms for your child, email me at jessilee.schaff@sd78.bc.ca or jschaff@agassizsecondary.com.

Poetry

Today we are going to practice making a rhyming poem and I’d like you to do it about your chosen animal for our science animal projects. 3-5 lines please and if you want to make a longer one, go for it. :)

Racoons

Racoons, racoons, are very clean with a big bushy tail
When they walk silently, you won’t see their trail.

They live in trees, hollow logs and roofs,
They walk on paws not big clunky hoofs.

They always wash their hands and wear a mask all day
If your really lucky, you might see a raccoon one day!

Science

Please list 3-5 interesting facts about your animal that you haven’t mentioned before. Here are mine!
1. Raccoons wash their food before they eat it. They will find a puddle and dunk it in.
2. Racoons eat carefully. If you give them an egg, they will carefully crack it and drink out the insides.
3. You cannot have a raccoon as a pet, even through they are very cute. They are too wild to tame.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Kindest regards,

Miss Schaff
